Traveling through Italy in September of 2004

This trip came about because Maura, my girlfriend (at the time), was attending a wedding in Tuscany.  Her best friends Kathy and Christian were getting married in Italy because it was very important for Christian that his grandparents be able to attend, but they were unable to come to the US.  So I joined Maura for the wedding, knowing I would have another week and a half after she had to return to the US.  I brought climbing shoes and a harness, hoping that I would be able to go climbing in the Dolomites... luck took me to a better place!  After the two and a half weeks of exploring Italy, I flew back to the US with a three day layover in Boston to attend one of my best friend's wedding.

Here are some pictures from the first portion of the trip, where Maura and I are cruising through Pisa, Luca, and Forence:

Here are photos from Tuscany - wedding revelry, and hoofing around the ancient towns of Chianti:

After the wedding, I hopped out to Sardinia for some seaside rock climbing!

After four days of lots of hard rock climbing, hard drinking and serious eating, I headed off to check out some more of the island, on my own.
