Index of Climbing and Backpacking Adventures

The outdoors has always been a significant part of my life, and that has grown as I have gotten older.  My mother was an avid hiker, so at an early age, I was out in beautiful places on the coast of Washington, Oregon, hiking through Yellowstone, the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, and paddling down the Colorado River; just to name a few of the various trips we went on as a family.  I fondly recall being outside of Banff with my mother while I was in college; everyone on the trails we were hiking had really nice legs - hiker legs.  

I spent my four years of college in Massachusetts, during which I was so embroiled in my undergraduate degree in Physics, the wrestling, and attempting to be a good fraternity brother, that I never got up to Acadia National Park in Maine, the Vermont mountains, Nova Scotia and all of the fantastic places to go out there.  When I came home and realized that I had missed so many opportunities, I privately vowed to not let this happen again.  Since then I've been hiking, backpacking and climbing all over the west coast, especially here in Washington.
